Does anyone else remember this SNES game, Flashback? We always talk about the couple of Cyberpunk games we’ve managed to remember, like Shadowrun, but no one ever talks about this incredible game. The story was fantastic, it looked better than anything out at the time, and it played great. It was a side scrolling, platforming adventure game mostly built around solving mysteries. You talked to people as you walked around town, went to stores, broke into restricted areas, etc… not just walk sideways and kill all the things.
If anyone’s into retro gaming, this is incredibly worth a look back on.
Tom Hiddleston reads When You Are Old by W. B. YeatsWhen you are old and grey and full of sleep,And nodding by the fire, take down this book,And slowly read, and dream of the soft lookYour eyes had once, and of their shadows deep; How many loved your moments of glad grace,And loved your beauty with love false or true,But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,And loved the sorrows of your changing face; And bending down beside the glowing bars,Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fledAnd paced upon the mountains overheadAnd hid his face amid a crowd of stars.
Haven’t even listened to this yet, and I’m about to run out the door and bike to the grocery…. but this is one of my favorite poems, and I’ll be pleased as punch to hear Hiddleston read it.
